I was in Grell-mood again – obviously!
This time I wanted to show our beloved Red Reaper in action, a bit as we see him in the “Jack the Ripper”-arc, but this is obviously later. I love to draw him in Madame Red´s coat!
In German, the Moon you see when a lunar eclipse is happening is sometimes called “Blutmond”, which means “Blood Moon”. I´m quite sure it´s a reference to the slightly red colour the Moon gets then.
When I was living back in Northern Germany, we lived one train hour away from the East Sea, and we sometimes saw gorgeous
Blood Moons without having lunar eclipses. My girlfriend
explained to me that it might have to do with the sea itself; apparently we perceive the Moon differently whether there´s a storm or depending on how high the tide is (I guess it has to do with atmospheric interferences).
If the Moon is more yellowish, we sometimes call it “Honigmond” (“Honey Moon”) or “Lachsmond” (“Salmon Moon”).
